Ancient Panduwasnuwara Kingdom At Sri Lanka
This site has been founded as Parakramapura, the city of Dakkinadesha, founded by king Parakramabahu the Great when he was the sub king of the territory which is known as Panduwasnuwara presently. The ruins appear here belongs to the 12 century A.D.The remains of the palace here survives within a moat and a brick rampart and the ground plan of the palace is similar to the palace of king Parakramabahu in Pollonnaruwa. Slab inscription of the palace records that king Keerthi Sri Nishshankamalla ( 1187- 1196 A.D) visited this place. From the South and North areas of the palace, are remains of several monasteries, stupa, image houses, Bidigara and dwelling houses available at each monastery.A special feature that I saw in this kingdom is they've used many bricks for their constructions than in Anuradhapura or Pollonnaruwa kingdoms.
So, if you hates studying history lessons in your textbook, come and visit these places. It will help you more rather than studying a book
